My husband purchased me the heart collection ring and charm for our 5 year anniversary. Charm cost $400 so then ring being in the same collection he got on sale for $100.
Now a diamond fell from my ring and when I went to Zales because I was told it had warranty but BECAUSE MY RING WAS ONLY $100 THE WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER IT. Now seriously it cost $135 for the new diamond and the ring cost $100. Why would I keep trying to purchase new pieces from the collection if I had this happen??!!
Now what!!! Advice please I love my ring :(
Monetary Loss: $130.

Zales does provide a Diamond Bond Warranty. However, it is only for pieces that have a total carat weight of at least 1/4 carat, or pieces that cost at least $200.
You may be better off going to a local Zales store and requesting a Lifetime Jewelry Protection Plan. The sliding-pay scale takes into account what your husband paid for the ring, and should be considerably less than the figure you were quoted to replace the diamond.
