I took it to the local store on 4-25-08 and was told I would get a call about cost for repair. On May 15, I hadn't heard from them. I went to the store and was told they had tried to call me on 4-29-08 but hadn't reached anyone. When I asked why no one had tried to recall me, I got shrugged shoulders and "Sorry".
I also was told the cost to repair the ring would be approximately $677.55. I wasn't offered any other option for repairing my ring. I told them the service was shoddy, as well as the jeweler's work. Why should I pay more than the ring cost for their shoddy work?
I understand that another diamond/stone would cost money, as well as it being set. But I wasn't offered any sort of alternative but to pay the cost. I sent an email to zales customer service, but doubt I'll hear from them. In it I listed some alternatives for my ring, which would have been acceptable.
I wouldn't recommend Zales to anyone!

| 1. Written by gcp, on 22-10-2008 23:50 Fyi zales is a rip off... The 50.is on valuation stating that if you do not specify a $ when dropping off, regarding liability, the item is worth 50. They should have ask a $ if there was not record immediatly available. Also, don't know about 35-50 thing. Sounds like you had delt with a newbie w/out supervision. A while ago, hope you got it resolved. |
| 2. Written by Zales is a rip off, on 07-10-2008 17:03 i bought my wife a $ 700 necklace and when i went to get insurance for it they told me not to bother the necklace was worth maybe 50 bucks. I went back to complain but the woman gave me the run around about how it looses value when it leaves the store. the sad thing is the necklace was $900 and was on sale for $700 it was worth 35-50 bucks! i have no clue what to do. |
